Oracle Announces General Availability of WebLogic Management on OCI

WebLogic Management is now officially in General Availability on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). If you’re managing Oracle WebLogic Server deployments on OCI compute instances, this new service will simplify your operational tasks and give you better control over your middleware environments.

What Does WebLogic Management Offer?

By enabling the WebLogic Management plugin through the Oracle Cloud Agent on your compute instances, you can now:

  • Monitor the health and patch readiness of your WebLogic components in real time

  • Perform lifecycle operations such as start, stop, restart, and rolling restarts for your WebLogic domains

  • Apply Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) efficiently across your WebLogic Server and Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure

  • Backup and restore patched WebLogic installations, helping improve your recovery options and reduce downtime

This means fewer manual steps and more automation to keep your environments secure, compliant, and highly available.

Why This Is Important

Managing WebLogic Server clusters - especially at scale - can be complex and time-consuming. WebLogic Management reduces operational overhead, improves visibility into patch compliance, and automates routine maintenance tasks, freeing you and your teams to focus on innovation rather than firefighting.

Where Is It Available?

Currently, WebLogic Management is supported in several key OCI commercial regions, including:

  • Ashburn, US East (us-ashburn-1)

  • Phoenix, US West (us-phoenix-1)

  • Frankfurt, Germany (eu-frankfurt-1)

  • London, UK (uk-london-1)

  • Tokyo, Japan (ap-tokyo-1)

  • Mumbai, India (ap-mumbai-1)

  • Sydney, Australia (ap-sydney-1)

If you operate in any of these regions, you can start using WebLogic Management today. Oracle plans to expand availability to more regions soon.

How to Get Started

To leverage this service, simply enable the WebLogic Management plugin on your OCI compute instances using the Oracle Cloud Agent. Once enabled, you’ll have instant access to a suite of management capabilities designed specifically for your WebLogic deployments.

Overall, WebLogic Management is a powerful new tool to simplify middleware administration on OCI, helping you maintain secure, compliant, and resilient WebLogic environments with less effort.
